I'd definately like to come along if anything gets arranged for the Lakes or North Yorks area. Would be good to meet some of you and it'd combine my car and my expertise of camping!!

I know it will be busy but will help with getting time off work. Can I suggest perhaps Easter weekend 14-17 April or the May Day weekend?

For Easter I may make a longer holiday of it.

Lakes/Yorkshire that kind of area seems good to me.

Monty had a good idea - possibly his first !!

Sy is going to track his Flying Cat the w/e of 27th May at Castle Coombe. Monty thought of combining CC with a camping trip somewhere nearby. Sounds a winner to me and would no doubt attract a few more bods from that neck of the woods to support CC and watch the Cat hit warp 1

I'm really limited for time at the mo and sadly holiday times are about the best times for me. However for a long weekend I hope I can work to it.

I have kids, so not for me. (Anyway I wouldn't be let out so soon after Donington).

However, I have a helpful suggestion for the Lakes: have any of you been to the Wasdale Head? They have a camp site opposite the inn, which I know of because last time I stayed there I was woken in the middle of the night by a terrible storm, and as I got up to wedge the window shut and put the central heating up a bit, I saw the tents out my window (with people trying to nail them down or chase them across the fields).

It has a brew-pub, a fine bar, and a great restaurant (dining room or pub grub).

Oh, and you can walk over a pass to that pub you all stayed at (or meant to stay at) a couple of years ago - the old Dugeon Gill or something.

Unfortunately the New Dungeon Ghyll (NDG) and Old Dungeon Ghyll (ODG) are semi civilised campsites which don't particularly like:-

a) noise of any kind - particularly after 23:00
b) their campsite being ploughed up by hand brake turns and doughnuts
c) their 300 year old trees being axed by Stevo

I got banned from the ODG for life in 1974 for taking the piss out of the warden and have never been back since. Shame because it's a great location with lots of good beer on tap.

What we need is a nice friendly farmer who likes beer, whisky, noise, fast cars, pyromaniacs and turns a blind eye to whacky baccy !!

I agree with the description above, great site, just a bit too civilised for people who wanna enjoy themselves.
The site at Wasdale head, at the bottom of Wast Water is a lot quieter, (due to being a lot more remote, and the Hardknoot & Wrynose pass is definately a test of any un-modified brakes!), it has 2 pubs too. One's actually a restaurane with a bar, unless it's changed since I last went.
I'd be up for meeting there for the Friday night, if we went Easter, but would be continuing up to Scotland sometime Saturday afternoon.
The Mayday weekend's fine by too.
Definately would be good to finally meet another elan owner, as it's not happened yet.

That site was OK. Least it has been tried and tested. Shame there doesn't seem to be anywhere for FIRE!!

I'd probably stay the Sat and Sun night, possibly the Friday also if I can get up there in good time.
