I did send the footage I have to Jim on a CD 2 weeks ago, and hope he can do something with is. Still looking forward to recive all material from the ring on a compilation DVD. 8)

Jim, if you can merge the 2 video's into 1, that will be great fun, and IF you can start them both spot-on, you might even find that you did have the fastes run. :) You know a few meters diff. is still behind. :!:

Monty's Windbreak

Postby texas2201 » Tue 26.09.2006, 23:11

HI Monty

Like your windbreak where did you get it and does it interfere with the roof or roof panel?

Martin

I mentioned earlier in the post that I was doing 9mins bridge to gantry but not in the elan in my E30 M3 with R888's and 240bhp

Monty's Lap

Postby texas2201 » Tue 26.09.2006, 23:17

Meant to say good lap Monty - different line to mine in some corners and I wonder if the difference is due to front wheel drive?

I have not got to grips with the Elan yet and would be interested in a Bedford day if it gets organised? Any updates on this?

I am hoping to get mine back on the road this coming weekend with all new front suspension including ball joints - it has been in the air on a ramp for 4/5 weeks....................

Excellent video Jim and congratulations to you and Delta on the time - what mods have you done or are your cars stock?

Presumably Dico was a lot quicker than both of you with the massive overboost he's running, but he's just too modest to say - I can't believe the rumours that he was be beaten by a girl in a van!

Martin, Monty's got LotusGirlMarie's roll bars and windbreak - details are here with the possibility of another run in early 2007.

Jim,
great video - and a good bit of driving.

Monty,
You're dafter than I thought to passenger round with Jim

Delta,
If you can go round in the same time as Jim, the problem of your video file size certainly isn't caused by driving slowly.

Thanks all for sharing what looks to have been a great experience.

wow, I see what you mean about identical runs! pretty cool and nice driving to both of you. next time get some cool camera angles--top of windscreen mount, under car mount, side mount, etc. then you can build a multi-camera angle pseudo-lap montage . . .

Cheers Jim. Very nice one. :!:
Looking forward to seeing you next year on the ring. :)

What we need now is to hear from Michael, how much faster he's lapping the ring. He's time could be our new goal.

Not that I'm to sure we'll need a new goal for next year. To match this years run, might proof to be a challange in it's self. 8)

You need to keep the camera's hidden. I was there this weekend just gone and merc went out with full camera kit mounted on his screen and the marshalls confiscated it. The rules are No Recording... and that means no obvious recording.

My S-Max barge made more people feel sick than actually getting any respectable laps in.

Got the Elan back on the road and it is great - really getting to know the car now.... :-D

Let my 22year old son borrow it and he thinks it is fantastic and he took his friend out in it and know he is looking for one!!!
