Sad news. Simply not had the time to get Bubli ready for the event

So, good news for Rambo, the Evora will be coming along with Blipi

BBQ - I'll bring my little bucket BBQ along. Planning to bring a stew for Fri night and burgers/sausages fr Sat night. It can couple up as a fire pit if there is wood etc available.

Weather looks set to be sunshine & cloud so packing for it to be warm!

Just getting everything together. I will bring the gazebo but it looks like the weather should be OK so hopefully we wont need it this time.

I'll also be bringing lots of beer and some food, I'll have a look and see if I can pick up a cheap BBQ when I go to the shop later.

I should be looking to get there around lunch time or early afternoon.

Edit: Almost forgot to print the camping ticket and vehicle pass!!

I've picked up a cheap BBQ so with Shauns charcoal and Stefs other BBQ we should be set. I'll also bring some Bacon, Sausages, Burgers etc we can share.

We could do with someone bringing Cooking Pans, Water and a Kettle though as I've not got those and we should be set for basecamp.

We will bring a set of billy can pans which can be shared but only have a small kettle.

They provide regular camping so I expect the basics will be provided. And possibly the shop and bar again as was there last year!

Another good event and great to chat with folks. Some nice pictures there.

Just managed to see Stef and Ian as I was leaving! Another year we must try to be a bit more organised to get together but this year my phone was out of action.

Sadly I won't be coming next year as we have booked a family holiday at around this time.

Was another cracking weekend! We were there till around 6:30. Concerns of an air ambulance were confirmed though with this official news posted on Silverstone Classics:

Sad loss and sad end to an amazing weekend.

Shame were were camped n different spots and that more time was not spent together. Numbers and better organisation required.

Agreed about meeting up and camping closer together next time. I won't be there next year if it is at a similar time so maybe 2016.

Good to catch up with everyone again - JimB, Stef, Ian, David, Graeme, Shaun etc.. - albeit only for too short a time . There is just so much to see and do at Silverstone that there is next to no time for socialising Perhaps we should've swapped phone numbers Stef as you lot missed a great concert by Bonnie Tyler (never thought I'd EVER hear myself saying this !!) and then an amazing one man band (Tom Korni) at the beer tent on site. After the gig and a few too many swally's of Steamroller, Jim and I staggered over to Graeme's gazebo and then David's motorhome about 2400 but both were in darkness !! Later found out that you had decided to just get gassed in the gazebo

Nice to meet you David (DABgb) and I hope I persuaded you to have more confidence in the M100 ? And good luck with the fans and sorting out your other minor problems

Very sad news about the incident at S/stone. It just shows how dangerous motorsport can be. I must have missed it as I left about 1530 on Sunday to go over to Hereford

PS If Donington doesn't happen next year perhaps LEC should consider this venue as the Holy Grail for M100 owners ? I'm sure the owners of the Litchlake farm site would allow us to cordon off a large area for our own use (as per the Cobra club)

Agree with the idea of making Silverstone Classics the M100 annual meet.

There is more than enough camping space and ability to section off a bit for us all to be together.

The event has more than enough of interest for all attendees too.

Donington seems to of died out sadly and I don't suspect the hey-days of old will return.

There are convoy-in spots where we can meet close to Silverstone and drive in together if desired too.

Oddly, the MX5's managed to mark their 25th anniversary with a parade lap on Friday whereas us M100's didn't! Shame.

The other contender for an annual LEC gathering would be the Lotus Festival at Brands Hatch. Bit further for Northerners to attend though sadly.

Next year we should swap numbers as the LEC crowd feel did lack slightly. Glad you had a good weekend Rambo!

Finally got around to adding my photo's to flickr from another great weekend at the Silverstone Classic.

Was glad to arrive after the SUPER HEATWAVE/SCHOOLS OUT SO WE'LL ALL JAM UP THE ROADS WITH OUT CARAVANS traffic, shame G & I didn't see any Elans when we arrived at the campsite otherwise we'd have joined, but we set up camp and waited for Stef to *finally* arrive (and then Ian in the Fairy Dust Evora )

Saturday was very good, G & I had a wander round and G came out with the familiar "I didn't realise how big this event is" comment (definitely better the 2 times I went to Donington, this is definitely a candidate for the annual LEC meetup). Enjoyed the Mustang Celebration along with countless other car makes which seemed to have persuaded the officials that it was one celebration or another to get them on the track Seemed to be a small Lotus turnout this year compared to the last time I was there (?)

Sunday, I woke early and was showered, packed and off before the other rose. Spent the day checking out about half of the corners of the track (Vale, Club, International Straight, Abbey, Farm, The Loop, Village, Aintree, Wellington Straight, Brooklands, Luffield, Woodcote, National Pits Straight). Also got the free bus to the International Pits and got up close and personal with the pre-61 and 61-66 Formula 1 GP Cars (it was an open pit lane and you could stand in pit entrance as they were firing up the cars, and also the pit garages as the cars went along the pit lane out onto track - got some awesome videos and nearly got ran over!)

Left Sunday about 6ish I think, car was lovely on the drive home (my concerns about temperature on the journey up were just the stupidly hot day sat in traffic for an hour and a half and new thermostat working compared to the old one which was not closing properly so the gauge didn't move as much!). Really sad news when I got home about the Lotus' crash fatality. Otherwise an incredible weekend. Looking forward to The Lotus Festival next weekend
