We m100-ers are a bit ‘thin on the ground’ and I thought it’d be rude not to try to meet up with the ‘movers-and-shakers of LEC’.

CCombe seemed viable for me so I booked a Travelodge room for Sat 25th May night - not knowing about any previous camping arrangements.

I’m still up for going unless attendance nose-dives, so I'll keep an eye on updates (tbh I can’t get over-excited about expensive Lotus owners screeching around bends...)

I know this doesn't solve the camping crisis but it'd be a shame if this annual chance to kick tyres fizzled out.

Wow, we've really dropped the ball here can't blame Burton Hill as we have probably taken them for granted for many years.
The only person who benefits from this is Lesley, as Burton is the bare minimum facility wise she will except, there's no chance she will rough it at the circuit.

Steve, the circuit is very much an 'if all else fails, and not suitable for everyone' situation.

I am waiting on a reply from a camping site 8 minutes walk from the curry house (further along that road from town, 0.3 miles) - and will update when I hear something.

...... I have managed to secure a camp site as mentioned above - it is situated between J17 M4 and Chippenham town.

That's the good news! - The better news is that it is a tenner a night, and is to be paid CASH ONLY upon arrival. There are toilet/shower facilities on site (but I've never been there), and details are taken from their website - http://www.wiltshirecamping.co.uk/

Geoff (the man I'm in contact with) is happy to host a (well behaved) group and will ensure we can be in an area together. The £10 covers 2 adults and a car.... extra few quid if you have extra people, dog, awning etc (as per website). They are happy for us to have an off-ground BBQ and a chinwag in the evening.

I have no idea how far it is to the nearest pub, but Cepen Park (Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre, shop etc) is about a mile down the road, and the Pit Stop cafe is up at J17.

I haven't even considered a curry for the Saturday as getting digs has taken my priority.

So, In best LEC tradition, we need a list as I have to let Geoff know numbers ASAP.

I can take my Cadac if that is what people want - but don't want to take it if people are wanting to go out to eat at a pub....... the site is near to supermarkets anyway (M&S Food and Morrisons just down the road towards Chippenham, then further into town the rest of the usual suspects).

I shall be aiming to get there early afternoon - if everything goes to plan..... but we can sort details nearer the time.

Right, well that's the 6 provisionally-booked spots I've reserved now taken.....

.... this is not necessarily meaning that anyone else won't be welcome, BUT I would strongly suggest that you decide quickly, and speak to Geoff at the camp site to ensure that there will be room for you, and he keeps a big enough area for us to be together.

It appears that we just turn up, find the man, give him cash and job done! (I have offered to send him a deposit by electronic transfer, but he hasn't said that it's necessary).

Apparently, there is a folk music festival that weekend so they are pretty well booked for the Saturday, but we are in!

Can somebody bring an elanscan cable that you know works to try with my laptop to prove either my drivers are wrong or my cable is faulty?
I feel this is the only way to see if my car is running poorly or whether my expectations are too high.

I'll bring a cable and a bluetooth...... hopefully there will be someone else who knows how to make it talk to your laptop!

I'll bring a home-made cable, a stand-alone logger, and a Laptop with the latest drivers and USB-Elanscan software.

I've also been playing with Freescan, and have managed to get it to recognise some of the M100 data stream so we'll have 2 programs to test with.
