Don't know if I'm missing the point here, but if you genuinely don't know what public liability insurance is then basically it's just cover that should you accidentally injury or kill someone or damage their property, then you will be insured for up to £5million to meet any compensation claims.

It's like 3rd party insurance for you, as opposed to your car.

e.g. you accidentally poke someone in the eye with an umbrella, in our increasingly litigious country they can claim compensation, this is where public liability insurance would come in.

Ailwyn, SBK,
Thanks. It was the 5M prefix I hadn't heard of before. If it just means that the level of public liability cover has to be £5 million, then I'm covered.

If this visit comes off, I'll contact my insurers just to confirm they're happy about the parade lap. If they're not it's no big deal - the rest of the day will be worth coming for even without getting the Elan on the circuit.

Just want to point out that the condition of the track is not brilliant, it was breaking up in place and had loads of large puddles with ducks in them when I went.

I was told it's a test track not a race track by the senior man.

Forgot to mention that all video recorders and cameras will have to be left at the main desk as no filming is allowed.

This is because they could test a car at anytime while you are there.

SBK,
The last weekend (28th) would be best for me.

Other July weekends are involved with family holidays (Scottish school holidays are a fortnight earlier than England and shorter). However I have been given dispensation for the weekend of 28th July.

Hi SBK!

This looks to be a great day at Lotus :D

Are we any closer on agreeing a date?

Reason I ask is that I fly out of the UK on 26th July!

cheers...........Rob
