Cambridge is a big detour for Shaun.
A14/A12 is not a lot further for us & there is a layby immediately after the A140, where Shaun joins the A14.

Map says 2hrs to Ipswich from me, so figure will take me around 1.40 or so to get to that meet point. Would a meet at 4:30 suit?

If we stopped off in Bury, we could then give the rest of the A14 a miss & take the A134 instead. It's a more direct route than via Ipswich & I think the Sudbury - Chappel bit should be a nice drive.

The festival kicks out at around 11.30 & we are not in a camp site, we are in a field which is opposite a row of houses.
I expect that if we had a fire pit burning at 1am, the festival staff will insist we put it out.

Bit late. Remember that we have to pitch our tents before going in. We're not going to be able to do that at midnight.

Doesn't take long to pitch up, half hour. Not sure if I can bail any earlier, will work on something though.

- I have the whole day off.

-Just checked photo's and last year we were walking into the beer fest at 2.35pm.

-The important question is WHEN DOES THE BEER FEST OPEN? - according to this http://www.chappelbeerfestival.org.uk/admission.php? there is no close on the friday session this year and it's from 11am - 11pm - this could get messy!!!!!

Seems too early for sloes, always best picking laste as poss for maximum flavour, got a bottle on the go currently anyay so will prob leave the gin (and recently had a nasty episode on the stuff too...)

Pretty much a straight route from Norwich to Colchester.
I should have the day off so will be able to meet up any time.
Not heard back from G yet, but I'll be in touch beforehand.
