As discussed last night at the H&C a cycle ride to Shoreham from Loxwood is planned for the weekend of 9/10 August 2008 (actual day tba).

Starting from our house, where you can leave the cars and ending up at our house for a bbq. We get back from Shoreham on the train. If any one is interested please add your names to the list with apreference of day.

We are interested, Tracy would like to know the distance of the ride & what time of day. Think its only fair that if ya have a bbq after that we should bring a contribution.

The ride is about 25 miles nearly all dead flat cos its on a disused railway line. There are a few pubs on the route and if we sort of started around 10-11am we should get to the first one at opening time. There is a ride on road back from the station to our place of 6 miles. If you're reasonably fit you'll have no problem.

Dang! I'm stuck on the wrong side of the continent on the wrong side of the Atlantic! I'd love to join you. 25 miles of flat pedaling with pubs along the way? Other than Elaning, my idea of heaven!

May have no hills, but it'll be a bit bumpy as the sleepers are still there :-)

(I've done this ride dozens of times - I think it's a superb ride through brilliant English countryside.)

Yes Dave i was a bit confused

Mark, it is a fairly easy ride with very few hills to speak of. But if its a hot day it could be a bit much for a 9yo. Tell him we'll do another one when he's a couple of years older.
