"As we go to press we've regrettably still been unable to agree a date with the circuit for our 2014 show. We know that the BTCC will be there over the Easter weekend to 19/20 April so that's out and the previous weekend is the Jim Clark Revival and Lotus world record attempt at Hockenheim. May is already full but other dates in April are still under consideration. However at the moment it's still not certain we'll be able to hold a show there next Spring"
Sound like CL have f^^^^d up yet again

That is a little unfair!
Perhaps you would like to ask the BTCC or the Jim Clark event to change their dates!

As the event hasn't been overly supported in recent years, it's unsurprising that CL should be expected to heavilly subsidize Donington if people won't attend.
Perhaps later in the year would attract the 'sunny days' users (and Manc campers!) - or maybe go somewhere else?????
Time will tell, but I don't think we can blame Club Lotus for the unavailability of the 'usual' venue.

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I don't think they will move it to the summer. They claimed that 2011 was poorly attended because it was in August.
I didn't enjoy the show much then or this year. What I did enjoy was camping in 2011 & the convoy this year..everything to do with LEC as opposed to Club Lotus in fact.
If nothing has been arranged by now, I don't think it will happen next year so I believe the onus is on us to arrange something for ourselves.
What is it people really enjoy about LEC that we can make use of? For me, it is the company a convoy. I will happily stay in a hotel but would rather camp out.

What about Croft?
I went to a Vintage rally a couple months ago and it went very well.
It only a few miles from me as well
Very good circuit.
91 Elan SE 24k miles, 270 BHP @ 1.25 barg. Roll hoops + fairings+ speed humps Elise lights. S2 alloys. Nitrons& Eibachs,AP's front & Hi Spec rear brakes

Perhaps we could organise something around the Silverstone Classic. I caught brief glimpses of LECers this year but no meeting up was planned..
On the plus side there is camping / it's fairly central / motoring based.
What do we think?

Sounds like we're doomed already.
Did anyone actually enjoy the show at Donington? I didn't. In 2011 Dico didn't go in stating that it was always the same. I agree with him.

The actual show isn't the reason I attend - It's the social aspect (people, both LEC and others) that mainly appeals to me.
If I had to choose a 'show' which I last enjoyed for itself, It'd probably be Malvern - maybe just because it was different - but I'll go anywhere (within reason) for a good get-together.
