Hope Motor Show 2014 -CANCELLED

At yesterday's Yorkshire/Lancashire meet we were discussing various meets and shows, when the Hope Motor Show came up. I haven't attended before, as it's a weekday evening show and couldn't fit it in around work. Now I'm retired, I thought why not give it a go?

So I went to the Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club site to get the details and found this:

"The Hope Motor Show - CANCELLED

It is with much disappointment that we have to announce that The Hope Show has been cancelled for 2014, as a result of the appalling behaviour of a small number of drivers and a large number of pedestrians on the road outside the Travellers’ Rest at the end of the show.

"After in depth discussions with Derbyshire police and latterly with the rest of the Derbyshire County Events Safety Advisory Group we, the organisers, have reached the conclusion that this is the best means of carrying the show into the future."

The show will return in 2015."

Having seen some of the videos of this show on Youtube, I can understand the organisers' and police's stance/decision.
