2016 TLF International Lotus Day Sunday 8th May

Postby TrevorB » Fri 15.01.2016, 18:05

For those of you that have not tried this event it is well worth a visit and an opportunity to meet up with a lot
of other Lotus owners. Another chance to set up some convoys as well. You will need to register on the TLF
website to put your name down on the attendance list.

I hope to make it again this year Tevor. May seems such a long time away though.

Some of the TLF members are meeting at Clacketts Services on M25 at 8.30 and then moving onto Cobham Services at 9.00 to
meet up with more cars. I'm planning on joining them at Clacketts. :burnout: and hopefully keep up

It was a lovely day at Mercedes Benz World with the TLF crowd. Well done Bibs and the rest of the organisers. Mike Kimberley presented the concourse prizes and
earlier on there was a visit from Peter Crouch and his family, you couldn't miss him :D
Also met GrahamUK and Paul69 came along to say hello although he didn't have his car with him.
Some photo's from the day.

Good to meet you early on Joao. That sun was relentless so we also gave up early at about 2:30 - but then burned to a frazzle on the way home with no roof protection! I didn't see any duff Lotus there so there was nothing to be embarrassed about. Nice that Mike Kimberley is still taking such an interest in our cars. Had a great stroll and chat with him....he's very proud of the M100.

Be proud. It got you to Brands last year and there you were at Brooklands. Bet you get more pleasure from driving it than 'concours owners' always frightened of chips in their paint,or those hiding them away in the garage.
The whole 'Concours d'Elégance' for a Lotus is anathema to me, and probably would have been to Colin Chapman. I'm sure he built them to be driven and if you use them they get chipped. Who cares?

:agree: :agree:

Whilst mine isn't a bad looking car (now), it has taken me a long time to get it to where it is.

I started off with a drivable, MOT'd car and made various 'improvements/changes' whilst using it for 6 years..... eventually ending up with what I now have.

I have enjoyed working on it, and I love driving it - there is no way i could just bring it out on high days and holidays, polish it, and put it away again (although if that is what another owner wishes to do, then that's their choice  ).

Yours is a drivable car which is an ongoing work-in-progress - enjoy it and don't worry about what anyone else may think (although i doubt if anyone would critisize the car anyway - it is what it is, and you get more smiles from driving it than you would ever get from polishing it!).
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

go on - click this link - you know you want to!
