Lotus Festival 2017 (Brands Hatch 2nd September)

Postby dapinky » Tue 14.02.2017, 14:27

I'm just starting this thread now as a chance for people to put a date in their diary.

I have no details (other than what I've seen on Facebook), but I'm sure that Bibs will be along in due course to add something (or I'll chase him up for info).

Saturday 2nd September 2017

The observant amongst you will notice that it is just one day, as opposed to the weekend that it has previously been - this fits in with the 'suggestion' last year that the Lotus racing weekend wouldn't be on thge callendar at BH for 2017, but hey, at least there is something happening!

Whilst i accept that Kent isn't very central for the UK, it does allow those who wish to come from the continent to get there - and for me it's a 4 hour drive (pretty much as Donny), so it isn't a huge issue.

As it is clearly a long way to go for a single 'day trip', would there be any interest in us (LEC) adopting it as a weekend event?

Last year, a few of us camped at Brands, and others attended for either Sat, Sun or both.

I am thinking something along the lines of turn up on the Friday, stay overnight (camping, B&B, hotel) have a curry/BBQ/Whatever, have the day at Brands Hatch on the Saturday, a meal somewhere on Saturday night.... stay over if you wish then go for a bit of a convoy/drive on the Sunday before heading home (unless someone has a good idea of somewhere to go on the Sunday????).

Would this be something that people would be interested in?
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

go on - click this link - you know you want to!

I saw this too Dave, nothing on the TLF website yet but as you say Bibs will have it in hand.

I've put it in the diary.

I was hoping to go both days this year! Glad I've already booked the Saturday off work. I'll wait and see what you plan for the Sunday.

Trev,

I haven't (yet?) been offered any for LEC - but I haven't asked Bibs for any....

...can you bear with me for a few days and I'll see what we can do (unless Geoff has been in touch with him :poke: :poke: )

Unfortunately having to remove myself from the list as I've just realised that we will be up in Yorkshire that weekend - good job I gave the LEC HQ and banner to Geoff to look after.
