Camping 2006

Ok I`m not volunteering to organised this, but thought I get a thread started.
Since it`s 2006 are we going to have another LEC camping trip?

I`m thinking the Lake District this time, so we can get more peeps to go.

Lets get a discussion going on place, venue and the time of year to hold it. Are there any events on in the UK were we could include a camping trip?

I know Dico was thinking off a camping trip some where near Knock Hill so Stevo could show us round the track, but I can`t see this happening this year as Dico`s blue beast may not get back on the road.

Last year there was thoughts off a bit of camping in Anglesey and booking in on there track

I`d keep this one as a uk camping trip as not everyone is prepared to travel long distance and wouldn`t be sure if i could make the Nurburgring this year.

If we have enough people and good enough planning (and a certain element of luck) we could hire out a whole track.

Through a tedius link I may know of someone with some influence on Anglesea track. I'll put some feelers out.

Otherwise the Lakes are a good reasonably middle way spot with some fun roads. Just a shame we couldn't enjoy them the last time.

Will Calander be on again? How far is that from Knock Hill?

Croft circuit is near Scotch corner / darlington straight up the M1. and straight down the A66 from Carlisle.

I'm 250miles south of there so what does that make me - second thoughts don't answer that

this campsite provides a free marquee for mini car rallys i.e. small car rallys and not stefs van.

and is situated not a million miles from grahames for bacon butty stops

and not far from Gretna for any englanders who wish to consumate their relationship with a curvaceous bit of fast hot stuff called Elan.

fishing, walking and driving scenery and the famous Stanes mountain bike circuit 300 M away . Lots of caravans and cabins for the softies who dont do canvas. wham :gray:

At least I stayed and got properly soaking wet (inside and out) instead of driving home like some to sleep in their own bed.

Stevo, lets do a butchers when the sun is up. We can also hit the Gretna factory outlets, I got a camo snowboarder jacket for £49 last time, big discounts.

Just adding another suggestion of Yorkshire to this thread.

I spent a week in the North Yorkshire Moors this year - for anyone who watches that Heartbeat/Aidensfield crap of a Sunday evening you'll recognize the stunning locations. What's more, they have great twisty roads for blasting the Elan, good pubs and beer, some with breweries attached (Cropton Inn) and even friendly people chucked into the bargain.

Usually a lot less busy than the Lakes but just as enjoyable, fairly central and easy to get to for most people.

As I said, just a suggestion, to throw into the equation.

Never heard of that one Monty but the pub at 6 metres is a bit far. We would need to drive and I'd never get there before closing !!

What we really need is some kind soul whose in the middle of nowhere, with an orchard who doesn't mind his trees getting clobbered by the mad Scottish axeman !!! Maybe we could camp at Sy's - his do'nuts must have healed up by now !!
