We have a stand!!! - CONFIRMED

Postby Stef » Fri 10.03.2006, 23:43

Well, we have been promised a space but it is just a case of where.

Could be in the corner of the auto jumble area (apparently a really poor space but I just want to get us at least something...) Or we may possibly have an island type stand.

Depending on what is in the kitty we may have to ask fellow LECers to spare a few quid to help out with this.

Therefore, we WILL be needing:

STUFF! Anything to promote and show off the M100 Elan AND selotape, scizzors etc
PEOPLE! To help man the stand and convert everyone to the way of the Elan
SUPPORT! In any form. Company for the stand holders, positive vibes, interesting ideas etc

TABLECLOTH - to make the table more presentable.

If anyone can provide any kind of stand for posters still it will be of great help.

Remember, this year is Club Lotus's 50th Anniversary and a DVD will be made of the Donington event. I will hopefully get a few balloons for our stand (fights for any possibly helium consumption will take place on Sunday) Ideally our club and the M100 Lotus Elan will make a good representation on this DVD.

1 week to go folks!!! :-D

Men are like a fine wine.
They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh * t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

I may well be able to help with setting up the stand on the Friday night, if you need any additional assistance, as driving back from Doncaster that night, so it can be on the route home.

Let me know if you need me and what time you are getting there

If I leave at 4 I should get there by 5.

I don't expect it will take too long to set up but all help welcomed!

Some bits can also be brough Saturday morning.

Does anyone have a table cloth or something for the table?

Oh, just another thought...

The set up on Friday shouldn't actually be that hard, no cars, no wall stands etc.

Will just need the odds and sods to put on it!

I'll try to get there by 5 and get it sorted but if anyone with posters, leaflet stands and table cloths can pop over we can get the basics set.

Stef,

Wilwood stuff has turned up so the offer is:

Break Kit inc discs and calipers
Samco Red Hoses
Elanscan USB Cable?

My problem is getting them back next week unless someone can drop them to Bristol or Cardiff as I wont be around on Sunday.

I'll have a hunt around for stuff to bring but I can't promise anything i.e I've sold the majority of my Carbon Fibre 'stock' + I've not received the next batch yet (hopefully I'll get a few items tomorrow - B post caps & Escutcheons).

Sorry about that.
Darren.

Thanks again to everyones efforts!

We raised a shade over £122 from the kitty tin with £55 going to cover the stand! A fantastic and much appreciated donating effort :smt038

I'm sure Sy will give us a quick update on the LEC account.

Apart from covering the cost of the stand we could consider using some of this cash for purchasing some sort of easy pack wall/stand/display thing or possibly creating a few awards which can exchange hands each year for various achievements.

Just a thought.
