Postby paulwatkins » Mon 19.03.2007, 22:12

Planning a day round trip from Weston-super-Mare to Elan Village in Powys, Wales

Sketch itinery at the moment is:
Leave Weston-super-Mare at about 10am ish

M5, M49, M4 to j24
A40 to Abergavenny
A479
A470 to Builth Wells
on to Elan Village.

Journey time 2hr 10mins
Distance 105 miles

Theres got to be some good photo oppertunities and once off the motorways, some fun roads.

Could meet up along the route.

Thinking of finding a pub in the area, spot of lunch, then make the journey back.

Anyone want to join me?

Just make sure you make the 'right' turning!

Sorry about the pic quality. Left work (Llanelli) at 17:00 and by the time I got there it was rather dark!

Just got back from Tunisia and seen this one - will have to check with work, but should be okay for it.

There was an article in 'Practical Classics' a couple of months ago on this route, did you see it?
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Nice idea, and I'd love to do it; but we're already booked for something else that weekend (and it is SWMBOs birthday!)

Cheers
