NEW C.A.S. BEARING AND SEALS WITH A LITTLE PROBLEM!!!!!

Hi from Italy....
I have changed the old CAS bearing with a new one but now I've a problem: I have lost the right position of the "HALL EFFECT SENSOR" with the "CAMSHAFT CONNECTOR". Are there somebody that can help me? Is good the "Right position" or the "Left position"? Can you show me some picture for my CAS?

I've got my CAS off the car at the moment....so, if no-one replies with the info throughout today, I can take a pic of my CAS after work tonight....

The 3rd and 4th picture show the CAS, looks to me like the "right position" is the correct one, however your pictures are not from the same direction as the ones on that page, so don't take it as fact.

I suggest you hold the CAS at the same angle as the pictures and see if they look the same.

Have u got the manufactures part number for the bearing u replaced on the CAS? this would be handy for the rest of the members

Here is a pic of my CAS for you to look at.
You can see that when the sensor part is in the same position as in your pictures, the camshaft connector protrusions are ABOVE the centre line (or as you have called it, the 'right' position)

Ok, thank you Paul, I have mounted the CAS unit like your's picture and now all is ok.

The the manufactures part number of the new bearing is 6000-2RSH for the SKF model. The price in Italy is 3,50 €.

There are then three O-rings:

1°) Located behind the CAS, on the shaft that connects to the camshaft.
2°) Located inside the CAS body, around the bearing.
3°) (Only for the oil leaks!) Located behind a plastic bung adjacent to the CAS.

There is, besides, an "oil seal" with this dimensions "10.22.7" (dimensions are in millimeters). In my CAS this "oil-seal" was very broken as visible in the picture!!


So...I can say: 6,50 Euros VS the CAS noise and the oil leaks!!!!
