And still not met reserve !! Christ, how much does somebody want for it ?!

Isn't there some generic tool kit you can buy and then just put a Lotus sticker on it to make you feel better ?!

It's pure greed !!

I'm thinking of putting one of my tool kits on EBay with no reserve. They're about as useful as a chocolate teapot :?

Two hundred and eighty pounds, apparently.

Plus postage.

Bit much for something which - other things being equal - is just going to sit in the bottom of the boot until you sell the car. Wouldn't be my choice of the best way to spend £280 on the S2, that's for sure.

The latest Elan toolbox on ebay doesn't look very original. It looks like somebody has stuck a Lotus badge on it and replaced the original charcoal grey foam padding with some nasty-looking bits of old car-washing sponge. Compare Rambo's photos below (from this thread with the ebay pics.

It does have a penknife though John  Unlike my toolkit on the left (ex Rambo) which had a space but never ever had a penknife in the 14 years I owned Rambo :?

Well, I guess it's easy to lose the foam, quite often gets picked up by a gust of wind and disappears under the car/down the road.

To be honest, you're buying it for the window and mirror switches - the rest is just scrap.
