4mm Scrivets

Postby DeanG » Fri 15.06.2018, 22:40

It was as cheap to order a lifetime supply of them as a handful. If anyone needs some let me know. Cost to me was $ 0.05 each. Throw some additional shipping into the mix and you can have all you need. 11 needed per door. Or order them yourself.

They’re the ones that secure the two access plates to the door, not the ones that ‘secure’ the door card to the door (for which I’m a fan of rivnuts, as it’s a much more secure fixing)

Same opinion on the rivnuts, in fact most wellnuts I find in the car end up replaced like that.

Are you referring to the plastic black plates in the door that cover the holes that we use to reach the window motor?

Both my cars came with self tapping screws holding those, not an ideal solution but I haven't figured out how to improve the installation.

I will have to look into this scrivets in more detail.

Yes.

Self-tappers is undoubtedly an alternative, but definitely not OEM :D

When I receive them I will post a picture of the new item and one of the original scrivets. These are to replace the 11 scrivets holding the two black plastic plates on a door. Much lighter than a screw or most other fastening methods.

"Add lightness" is a Moto that cannot be applied when I sit in any car.
