Fuel filler flap

Not a problem but not really a project either. Last time I filled up with fuel I noted how rough my fuel filler flap area was.



A bit of work later and it now looks like this

I remember when I did the same thing I learned that the car side of the door arm screws into a plate behind the GRP -- I figured it out exactly when I took the second screw out and heard it drop inside! One hour later, with all the stowage area removed, I found the plate

Nice what paint did you use ...how did you go about it did you remove the flap

Cheers guys, yes I removed the flap and the hook clip from the flap (and was sure to record where they fitted for alignment later on!) and then worked out how the hinge was attached. After a good deal of Touch and go at times though

Rubbed the metal bits down then primed and painted with standard hammerite products. I polished up the top of the hook and put some tape round that prior to painting as it will only get scratched in use anyway.
