Pacific Blue Paint

Hi,

I wish to repaint the hood stowage lid of my 1990 Elan M100. Lotus have confirmed the paint code is A68 Pacific Blue ICI P4217750 C082B6173J however I am having trouble identifying where I can purchase this paint. Does anyone have any suggestions?

its listed on ebay sorry cant do links. i bought some lotus lemon yellow a22 from them last year. comes in a kit colour + lacquer rattle cans

Any automotive paint supplier. Just do NOT go to Halfords. Their paint matching service is useless in my experience.

Thanks guys. My local body shop, who have a good reputation, could not find an off-the-shelf match. I would prefer to buy a tin of paint rather than the spray cans available on eBay. My idea was to re-spray the lid and then get it wrapped with clear plastic sheeting to prevent the hood from damaging the paintwork again. Ah the best laid plans! I think what I will have to do is to take the fuel cap cover to a paint supplier to ensure they can achieve a good match. Watch this space!

Just go to an automotive paint supplier (not a car body shop sprayer) with the paint code and he will mix it up for you there and then. And he'll mix as much or as little as you want, but probably not less than 1 litre.

Paint codes are all available in WikiLEC or on your VIN plate by the bonnet lock.

Is it not possible to have the plastic wrap done in pacific blue ?

Firstly, where are you based? It may seem like an obvious question, but whilst I can tell you numerous options for areas of the EU / UK (local and/or postal), I wouldn't have a clue what you are allowed to buy in Australia, USA, Canada or Singapore

Are you looking to paint the panel yourself or get it done by a professional?

What type of paint do you want to use? (or have the equipment for?)

Assuming that you are looking to replicate the OE finish, I suspect it will be a 2-pack paint system you are after - but that has certain H&S restrictions on home use.
