Hi all is S1and S2 bodywork interchangeable ?

I can't see why not and interested to know why you are asking.

Artioli/Buggatti only produced the S2 as they found 800 engines were part of the acquisition and they wanted to re-employ the laid off workforce before they found other jobs. The changes made to the S2 were mainly either because of changes to emission regulations (cat' and ECU) or they didn't have enough bought in parts (alloy wheels and steering wheel). Some other components like suspension arms and seals were re-engineered but it was only a stop-gap while the Elise was being designed and put into production so hardly likely that any changes would be made to the major body moulds. They did offer some extra paint colours and a choice of hood colours but the S2 hood is exactly the same as later SE hoods.

S2 was a masterful bit of marketing though, putting Limited Edition and numbering each one created a demand and mystique about a heavier and less powerful sports car than the SE.

S1 or S2 will do then - as long as you get the UK RHD version (A100B0962S) as used on both S1 & S2 you should be OK. The US versions had an extended noise to meet their crash resistance requirements. I think it looks nicer and probably has a better coefficient of drag but supporting structures were different too.

The clams are the same, as long as they are for the right market and RHD/LHD... But there appear to be improvements in the later spec headlamp pods. They are a lot 'cleaner' in design
