I recently replaced mine with a hood ( only) from Carhood Warehouse in Surrey. With a replacement set of straps and shipping to the US it was 622GBP (no VAT). It was a mohair roof, later S2 style, with little chalk marks for where to line up the on the frame. After lots of Youtube watching and with a large tin of the recommended contact adhesive in hand, I replaced it myself in a weekend. (Removed the old one in a couple of hours and spent four hours cleaning the frame with lashings of acetone to clean off the old adhesive.

Overall I think is came out well - it was my very first hood and I ended up with a tight fitting symmetrical sealing roof. The front header was the trickiest bit!

My seals were in good shape and apart from the intermediate seals which I replaced from my own stock I reused everything else.

If you have the time then this is not as difficult a job as you would have thought.
