Hi everyone, I’ve been busy working on the lotus during this lockdown. Rebuilt both windows with new sliders and door window seal, motors are strong as I replaced these several years ago with Peugeot ones. Now for the BIG ONE! I have an original trim tech new hood, two intermediate seals and two falling pillar seals and two A pillar seals. Have had all of these for sometime now and always found a reason not to start this job! But now seems as good as any if it allows me to self isolate in the garage with the Elan. I’m asking for any insights or ‘tricks of the trade’ for undertaking this job. I’ve watched the you tube video of hood replacement several times now and no doubt will watch it several more! A pillar seals I’ve found much less info for removal/replacement so any advice would be gratefully received. I have ordered 2” black elastic, Velcro, black gloss paint to make the frame look and work better. Also ordered 250ml can of Evo Stik impact contact adhesive (is this good enough for sticking the hood to frame?), and finally Stixall extreme power adhesive and sealant for sticking seals etc. As I say any guidance appreciated. Thanks
