Rear number plate plinth re-paint

If you have any black plastic items that have faded this paint seems really good. The rear number plate plinth and the bits above the lights looked terrible. Faded and stained. Also over-spray of Silver frost paint from when a previous owner had the car re-painted. See before and after pictures below.









Pleased with the result - lets hope it lasts. I will let you know

That’s what I used too. I find all the Autotek range really good; the etch primer is my go-to primer, and I’ve also used the satin black, the stone chip and the zinc primer as well.

I used this same paint on my doorstep trims, and it was fine for about 6 months..... then it started to flake off (mainly on areas subject to damp settling).

Research showed me that it should work without any 'extra' primer, and maybe I was unlucky... and it doesn't get seen anyway.... but it is on my list of things to rectify when I get round to it.

I used Autobright restore-2-black on my exterior plastics.
It's a dye not a paint, so it sinks in to the plastic and won't chip off. Just don't get any on your hands!

There's a grey version as well imaginatively called restore-2-grey.
