Anti chip film

Hello all,
I am just about to have the sill areas sprayed due to stone chips. I have aquired a set of 4 anti chip film protectors. Does anyone have these fitted and if so can you supply pictures of them front and back. The difficulty I have is what goes where, it's not obvious and I want it to look right and also protect the right areas.

Mine has 4 chip protectors, the large one above the sill line and the narrow one directly below. None at the front

My car had film strips on it when I bought it but dirt had got behind them making them look nasty. I got them off ok but trying to put them on was a nightmare. I wasted one and gave up. Is there a technique to put them on smoothly?

I don't have them on the Elan, but when I replaced the ones on my 944 I sprayed the area on the car where they were to go with soapy water (couple of drops in a spray bottle) then when you fit the film it can move about on the water until you get it right then use a squeegee to push out the water underneath. Bit like putting transfers onto models when you were a kid!

I have recently done all 4 on my S2, took a while to get off using the heat gun on low and some sticky stuff remover, the slightly soapy way was fine.

Has anyone fitted a similar PPF layer to protect the area where the soft top sits on the rear deck. Managed to get off most of the marks and a good polish helped.

I know of a tall ginger bloke with a respray who would like some as well.......
