Water in the boot

Does anyone know how the water gets into the boot? What is the route it takes.

I left the car out in the rain and later found the left side had about an inch of water.

I would guess the boot seal, maybe the aerial?

On my car the front edge of the boot is slightly bowed upwards in the middle, just enough to let water through into the boot if I take the car out in hard rain.
I tried re-setting the boot hinges to apply outward pressure on the boot which helped a little, but I think I'll have to unglue the front edge and re-glue it with a large weight resting on it to fully fix it. I just haven't got up the courage to apply heat to the glue & fibreglass yet...

In my case it was a leaking (cracked) washer bottle

water bottle and aerial hole are the 2 main spots i can think of.

anything else i would be taking out the carpets and checking out the fibreglass around the boot,

there is a hole that needs to be plugged on the left side. its a hole aligned to the top arm of the suspension, used to remove the bolt.
but it would take months of driving in the rain for water ingress from there to make a poodle at the bottom of the boot.

the design of the body at the top includes a lip which by itself should avoid water ingress. even without a seal attached.

my boot has a few holes at the bottom to drain any water spillage from the reservoir. mostly because if its full and i get a little excited driving it can spill (reservoir lid aint the most trustworthy IMO)
