I believe everyone has already helped you with the other end clip issue.

Here are pictures of the bonnet end bracket and how it is assembled. Sorry for the blurry pics, but I didn't have my glasses when I got to the shop.

You can probably fabricate a replacement bracket from some square tube, a drill and a hacksaw.

SJs in the UK shows they have the bracket C100B0442F for $28.18 with $27.18 postage.

If you want my spare bracket, you can have it for $20.00 + postage

The nylon bushing is A100W6450F is $1.00. I can get you one for around the same price.

The washers, screws and retaining pin are all standard hardware.

Don, your rod is installed differently from mine and I have never messed with mine and it only has 20k miles, so probably as original.
I looked at Steve Matthew's bonnet that I bought when he scrapped his car and his is assembled the same as mine.

I think I'll have a go at making a piece out of square tube, that doesn't look too bad. Gotta see if I can track down the right bushing, and finding a new clip in the US with those ford part numbers looks promising (shipping isn't cheap though).

I have a couple other projects with the car that are needing more attention than this prop at the moment, so I might just throw a couple in when I order from SJ again. Since all the parts are available from SJ maybe I'll just get them from there and save the hassle. (I can't seem to find the bracket on SJ's website though).

Put in the part number without the first and last digit: 100B0442 same with the bushing: 100W6450

It would be best to email Steve before placing the order. They have been obsolete since 2009.

The bushing is basically a "hat" bush to reduce the large hole in the bracket to a "bearing" small hole for the rod.

.... I see John says that it should be 90degrees - but as I didn't have one to compare it to, I went for the Defender one and it fited and worked - so was good for me!

(I only used it for about a month before fitting the gas rams though!)

Ooooohhh Dave, how the hell does that fit? Received that part yesterday and removed the old broken one and there's just a round hole

The stem goes in a hole, then push the pin down to expand/lock it......

I can't guarantee that mine is in the original hole from the OE clip, 'cos I didn't have a broken one to remove!!!!

Is the hole the same size (actually a "snug fit") as the end collar on the holder?

If so, you push the collar into the hole and then push the actual clip through the collar the rest of the way and it will "swell" the collar making it stay in place.

If the collar is smaller than the hole, then it won't work as the collar only swells a small amount.

Hole is much bigger than the stem, also looks like you have to cut/break bottom section off, spin that round as that part of the stem is a bigger bore. Anyways it's never going to fit, so I've ordered these

SJ Sportscars doesn't have the bracket after all, just placed an order with them.
I almost have my car back together... just need more parts and tires. It will come together eventually.

Bonnet stay clip repair – This replacement clip from a Golf Mk2 Pt No 357823397 fits the standard hole/stay and has been on my car for the last 2 years with no issues. The old clip can be removed by pushing in the centre plastic pin to release it from the bonnet hole (recover old pin using double sided tape attached to a piece of wire). I prefer the clip in white plastic as it`s a good target to aim for, but black is also available.
