Dear Gary:

Have to thank my 89 year old dad for this-I carry two. One on my key ring and a second in my wallet. I do this for my daily driver as well. But you have to take an ignition key and cut the head down to get it flat enough so you don't think you are sitting on a baseball (cricket ball is close enough).

Or.................

You could fit a 'central locking solenoid' from e-bay (£2.95) which comes with all fittings .........


....... attach a bit of wire fed into the car.......

Then you have the choice of

[1] a 'scrapyard find' boot release switch (mine was all of 99p (flea bay again!!!)

[2] wiring it into a spare terminal on your remote central locking fob (too complicated for me!)

[3] leaving the wire dangling and just touching them together when you want the lock to trip {cheapskate option!!!!}

Have you got any pics of your install as I've been looking at a remote boot release that relies on using the release on the existing mechanism, but there is no way (without cutting the boot lid) to get at this on the stock setup?
