Also bet ( apart from a few like galvanised wishbones ), they ain't actual improvements. Just can't see that it was viable to invest more money improving the car, when they knew they were only gonna make 800, & the whole purpose was to raise funds for Bugatti. I'm fairly sure most of the DIFFERENT parts are there because they ran out of SE ones.

Bringing this back to the original question of what is a Rest of the World RHD body, what countries would this be applicable to ?, only ones i can think of is Australia & Japan, any others ?
Only possible difference we can think about is the rear spoiler, apparantly the fed one is different, could this possibly be on this body ?, anybody got a pic ?

I think generally the West Pacific is full of RHD countries From Japan to South Africa (like Taiwan NZ & indo).

Body differences I have heard of:
Fed front bumper
Back reg plate cover
Rear clam shell corners (where the shell meets the rear lights)
Reflectors on the side of the fed Elan

If you have a look at the parts guide there are numbers for each part, where the parts differ in other countries there is a different part number.
eg Door shell page 10.15 a there seems to be a change in the UK spec and the usa different again.

So if you were looking for a specific part then you may find it and see how many different part numbers there are. eg Rear topshell has three part numbers including stage one and stage two.

Hoping that this may be of help, but suspecting I may just be embarrasingly stating the obvious.

What are you up to anyway? I thought you were just building another elan from the chassis up, but now I'm not so sure....

Phil, if ive got the chance of a new tub in the lotus aftersale for £75, then i would change the one on my car, although its been repaired, it would be nice to have a new one, to go along with all the rest new parts !, but obviously no point getting it if its not a straight swap ?

I have been reliably informed that the rear wing on this shell is the 'federal' type.

Guess your'e not as lucky as me then eh me old flat footed pal :wink:

edit- this guy has two UK spec rear wings (in black

) if you are prepared to go to the trouble of swapping em???

I guess that an new tub is rear bodyshell?
For £75 you might as well buy it and see hadn't you? if it doesn't fit I am sure you could sell it on and get your money back? and if it does fit you could sell the old one and get your money back :-D

Phil, talked to Lotus Technical last week, who told me tub was not the same as Uk SE, main difference was that it utilised federal rear wing, so this put me off as there nolonger available, also like i said, it needed to be straight swap !

Well now you have the answer it will save you the hasstle of finding out the hard way.!

Wow that's quite an opportunity though.
I mean, surely if you wanted to get rid of the "dreaded" vertical line/gap, then if you have the tub it's easier to neatly cut down the rear spoiler to fit the body.
The only issue is making some risers to ensure that it lifts the spoiler off the boot by the correct amount.

Hey Geoff, if it was straight swap, i'de be there mate, but it ain't, requires time, work, space & more money, of which i'm short of all at the minute. I was gonna store it if i got it. Little things peeps don't realise are, the rear wing cost £200 to have decaled & lacquered, & it would have to be changed !!!!!!!!!!
