Has anyone tried fitting Kuching's hard top around Marie's rollbar?

Nope, don't think anyone has.
There are only a six rollbars that I know of in the UK and none of the owners have hardtops as far as I am aware.
Be nice to know if it would work......... as its been pissing down here for the last 8 hours!

Installed a new top over the summer, and it was tested by the first rain in San Francisco yesterday. Leaks as bad as ever. Given the way the seams run above the window, seems to channel water directly onto my lap.

At <$2k, with ALL mounting gear but unpainted, I would be interested. Anything over that, and I would be less inclined. I don't get caught in the rain enough to justify a $3k top.

Please let us know if this actually gets off the ground.

Any more info on this puppy? I'd be very interested in a hardtop. If I knew for sure that one would be available I'd yank my car from the for sale category in a heartbeat. Especially after looking yet again at Sy's pics of one fitted in the proper :-D

color. Might even have to add the yellow stripe one day.

I've just seen Sy's hard on for the first time in the flesh today and I was very impressed indeed.

While BRG would not be my first choice of colour, the yellow stripes and wheels set it off a treat and the whole package looks very tasty.

Alright, sorry about not posting on this for awhile. I've had a lot of personal issues that have come up over the past 8 or 9 months and that, along with scheduling conflicts with my fiberglass guy, hasn't been helpful in making progress.

I'm hoping to hook up with him sometime and will post an update. One problem is that my car's been down since October so it's hard to get it over to his place anyway!

Thanks for the posts regarding interest, and again I'm sorry. We've having our first kid in May (:-D) which takes a lot of preparation, plus my wife has been diagnosed with cancer (:(), which takes a lot of emotion.

Thank you. It's been a very rough ride the past while and it just seems that luck is against me at the moment. Adding all that together just strips the energy right out of you sometimes.... Lots of nights bawling myself to sleep. It all just doesn't give you the go-get-'em attitude you need every morning to make it through.

Although I guess I have to confess, I have had ONE bit of good luck now that I think of it. My S1 Esprit has now reliably driven me almost 6,000 miles in the absence of my Elan. No offense, but nobody can argue that a 70's British car falls in the categories of "reliable", "safe", "winter", "snowy", "salty", "daily driver".

Few more months and the new baby boy pops out though. Gonna have to train him on a wrench (spanner) right quick though while he's still small enough to work on these cars!
