Front Lip Spoiler - what fasteners ??

Postby simonbuk » Mon 18.04.2016, 17:07

Could anybody please tell me what sort of fastners are normal used to attach the lip spoiler to the underside of the bumper ?

Is it just normal nuts and bolts with washers ? Or are there some special fixings ?

Can see the rubber strip for sale on SJSportscars website but nothing about how to fix.

Also what fixes the fibreglass undertray to the underside ?

No spire nuts - they are extra deep for the thickness of the bumper.

Heavily rusted ones

I have been attempting to remove mine for some weeks now. Finally resorted to grinding them off (carefully) as they are all irretrievably seized. I have a stainless steel set standing by to use with the replacement though.

Good luck!

Sorry for all the questions but am just trying to work out EXACTLY what I need before starting the job.

My car came with the lip spoiler and undertray in the boot so I never took them off.

:agree:

But he was asking about lip fasteners not the undertray fasteners. Think you may have mixed up and combined 2 different threads Geoff. See viewtopic.php?f=30&t=25135 for the undertray thread.

Guess the Spanish sun is getting to you! :D

EDIT actually I think the English sun is getting to me.  Just noticed he said lip AND undertray. The other thread I referred to is just the undertray. Bit confusing when 2 separate threads cover the same thing :? :? :bonk: :bonk:

Thanks folks, think I've got most parts ordered now.

Annoying that when you order a new lip spolier you can't order the associated fitting parts to go with it easily !!

Yep. M6 x 18 and not M8 x 16! Post corrected to avoid future problems rather than trying to make you look daft Simon.
