Up to date HOOD SUPPLIER list 2018

Postby clemo » Wed 11.04.2018, 18:39

Just had a nose over on wiki and we seem to not have anything listed for hood supplier.
There are some postings on other threads but nothing in one central place. Once compiled we can pop it into the Wiki.

So cheers for any input.

Having spoken to most of the List above i have chosen to buy my replacement hood from Brian at all hoods.
Husband and wife team who seem very nice. He's going to get it cut and his machinists ( 1 of 4 that he employs ) will have it all stitched up in the next few days.

I called in to see this guy a while ago upon recommendation from my father. They are well known for restoring leather interiors and soft tops. Guy had an old Jag and MGA in there i think at the time in for a complete retrim. I found out later a friend had taken his S2000 there for a new hood and was impressed by his work.

I can't remember the exact price now but it was something like 650 or 750 which included fitting and VAT. He said he got the roofs in from America.

Didn't know if this was the correct place to post but has anyone heard of this guy or similar?

https://www.theseatrepairguy.co.uk/index.html

Spotted an add on eBay, https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 4020462266

Apparently for £195 he replace the rear plastic screens on the soft tops... does anyone know others closer?

Lee

Hi Captain cave man,

Its a bit more involved that that . Yes they can replace the rears screen BUT they require the roof to be removed from the frame. which is quite involved.

Hope this is of use to you .
All the best

I used this company near Swindon when I had my Alfa Spider. At the time, he also had an MGF and, IIRC, a Ferrari in the workshop, so he obviously does other makes. You could give him a call . . .

holy moly
these were about £800 from trim tech about 10 years ago........fitted including seals
or about £1000 if you had a new frame too..........
I know I got one......Dean was brilliant........shame they dont still do them......but at that price I suppose you can see why they weren't making money........
