Rear Light Cluster Lenses - Remanufac ture - Availability

Postby M100TURBOFR » Tue 21.05.2019, 08:47

Hello
Please note that these said lenses are henceforth available. There are 4 lenses per side (1 white (reverse), 2 red (brake and?? and 1 amber (indicator)). To reply to Ron R, the indicator lens (normally amber) can be produced in clear white without any difficulty.
Delivery times naturally are dependent on the quantities involved, but they are in the region of 3 weeks on receipt of order.
These lenses are normally heat-glued to the rear light unit, but in the event of breakage/renewal they can be affixed with SIKAFLEX.

The prices given are VAT inclusive. Only carriage costs are to be added. The latter naturally are dependent on the quantity ordered

1/ Cost of a set of the four lenses for the rear light cluster : 180€ inclusive of VAT per side (RH/LH)

2/ White clear lens (reverse light) : Purchase in pairs
One single pair : 36,60€ per pair
Ten (10) pairs : 32,00€ per pair i.e. 320€ for 10 pairs

White clear lens (reverse light) : Individual purchase RH or LH
Right or left-hand single unit : 23,00€ per unit
Right or left-hand unit : 20,50€ per batch of 10 (ten) i.e. 205€ for ten units

3/ Indicator lens (Amber or Clear White) - Price is identical whether amber or clear white.

One single pair: 55,50€
Ten (10) pairs : 49,90 € per pair i.e. 499€ for ten pairs

Right or left-hand single unit price : 32,90€ per unit
Right or left-hand unit : 29,10 per batch of 10 (ten) i.e. 291€ for 10 units

At your disposal for all additional information.
Thanks
David

See this thread on rear lens deformation for an example of why these might be needed.

NewLogik (Max) Hi
Would some more knowledgeable person please answer Max's query. Did they exist in red ? Perhaps for the American market?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the US rear indicators were red, have a look _here_ as an example.

In addition BCN will no doubt be along soon to confirm the colour, or in his case color.

They can be made in any colour you like......

..... however, in order to be road legal in the UK they need to emmit an amber light (there are even technical specs as to the colour range if you're interested  )

I appreciate that in days gone by we could import cars from USA with red rear indicators etc, but for a car of the Elans' age there is no way to legally fit red ones.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Actually, it was more about that all the Elan I have seen so far in Canada or US have red indicators lenses. So we could probably have them in red ?

The FED car has all red rear lenses except for the rev lights.

I have ONE UK right rear lamp that I can break up if someone needs the yellow indicator lense.
