Hood adjustment

Right I think I've got the hood seals sorted and the header grips well, the problem I have is the locking bars at the back of the hood. One is too loose, the other too tight to straighten; neither naturally extend and lock once the hood is closed. I've tried repositioning the cam adjuster on the locking bars, but it appears more fundamental than that. I've also played with the position of the locking clips on the header, to no avail.

What do I need to adjust to get the bars to give even locking pressure? Is it the tension in the fabric straps? If so how do release or tighten them?

In my case (based on advice on this forum) I undid the front Allen key bolts on the bent rod supports (both sides), got the hood to where I wanted it (ie pressing down along back lip) and then made a visual note of how far out of “whack” the rod and bracket holes were. Then I removed the rods, bent them in a vice and refitted, repeated until the holes lined up. Magically it all worked when I refitted it.
