Rear light Cover Removal

Postby Critter10 » Thu 15.04.2021, 12:16

First let me apologise if this is covered elsewhere (I think it must be!) but endless searching has not thrown up what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to remove the rear nearside plastic light cover (it's cracked, letting water in) to effect a repair until my replacements ordered from David Watt arrive. The problem is I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove it. I've got so far as removing the three top spring clips and the far left and right bottom clips, but it still won't budge (any serious effort and I can hearing slight cracking sounds!) so I'm assuming there are more clips between the cover and the bumper? Do you have to remove the bumper to do this???? If so, that's probably way beyond my capability. I did check the service notes, but this does not seem to be covered anywhere - the file is protected so I can't use Adobe OCR text recognition to try and find it.

Any guidance would really be appreciated - or if someone can signpost me to where this has already been covered in detail, that would be great.

Many thanks, in advance :D

Okay, after much perserverance and a little help from a friend with considerably more auto experince than me, we got it out! Sorry to have rung alarm bells.

Challenge now will be to get the bottom number plate-side clip back on :(
