Hood frame detail

Postby M100PGC » Sun 23.03.2025, 18:17

Need urgent help, fitting new hood to my Elan and have removed both mid cross members from frame to clean and paint but thought they were symmetrical but the rear one has a stop and the pivot point has a stop so is handed. Now not sure which way the stop should go, thought it was best towards front but noticed on the only clear photo on this site it goes to the rear.
Please can someone look at my photo and see if it matches their car?
Thanks, Peter

The sharp point and flat back should be towards the back of the car

Thanks for fast reply and confirms what I suspected. Fortunately was just about to rivet to webbing when I noticed the sharp bit and it could be handed.
Did take photos but not clear about this detail and all evidence was removed when I cleaned and painted them.
Can continue today as we have the rare event of sunshine in March
Regards,
Peter
