Renovo Hood Treatment - Recommended

Postby DavidElena » Tue 16.01.2007, 00:31

I know the Renovo hood restoration products are not new to the forum (I got the lead from other postings) but having just spent part of the weekend treating my hood I have to strongly recommend the products to other owners looking to restore their hood colour and condition.

Before and after photos are attached. The main issues before were fading, white stitching and stains from old lichen growth, etc. The black colour has now been fully restored, stitching dyed dark grey/black and the colour is uniform with no marks or stains. Basically looks like a new hood. It has tightened the hood a little as well.

I was given the full set - 0.5 litre cleaner, 1 litre restorer, 0.5 litre proofer, small bottle of plastic screen polish but there was plenty left for at least one, probably two repeat applications. Total set was about £60 inc P&P but you can buy the bottles individually.

The cleaner is recommended as it did an excellent job just on its own removing dirt. Easy to paint on and wash off. Again the main colour restorer was easy to apply and not so runny that it ran onto the paintwork. I have to say I didn't see any difference from polishing the plastic screen but it was in good condition beforehand. The proofer was a bit more tricky as the roof fabric was resisting absorbing it so it tended to run across and off the fabric rather than into it. I'm waiting for it to rain to check whether the water beads up on the roof now.

So overall, very pleased, it has made quite an improvement to the appearance for not much money. Strongly recommend. Website is www.renovointernational.com :D

made out of what??.....
specs...details...pics needed before we even think about looking at something we've never heard of before........
even better still remarks/comments from those who have them fitted to their cars....(which I'm reckoning is probably a big round number at the moment).......
its about £200 cheaper than trim tech but probably doesnt include the seals....so by the time youve bought the seals it'll probably work out about the same.......

Gotta say you are very lucky to have a very good plastic window. Mine is quite badly scratched. However, the plastic polish allowed me to see traffic and even trees thro' the rear view mirror. Well worth the money if all you can see is a hazey blur.
