I'm in for an Alan if this goes ahead as it would be the finishing touch. However, until Alan agrees this is only really a wish list and I think the price is something that will have to be worked out. I am however willing to contribute a share of development costs. Ideally, a switcher version would be the business, as the options and flexibility that would offer would be of real benefit for routine road use combined with occasional track days.

Good news. Alan IM-ed me saying OK he will take a look at making a new chip -- Mt. Diablo?

I'll have to wait to get my car back from the shop, dynoing, etc.

well, im sorry about the 1" not clearing. it was either that or risking it touching the exhaust manifold at 5/8".

ah, paul, i see you came out of the closet with your plans

LGM, have you dyno'ed yet. im curious to see what you're putting down in WHP. because i have a new tbird it will be a year or three before i upgrade my RS. i might have you save me a downpipe, the oil and water lines i can take care of and it's not like the intake will work for me either, damn Isuzu!@#&^*^&%@!

Yeah but we know how good Alan is

This can only go ahead if the ECU is capeable and Alan think it can be done, thats why i suggested if we all throw in £100 in to the delvelopment and get aleast 10 people interested then there`s £1000 for Alans trouble (if we have to put more in then so be it) and this wouldn`t neccesary include the chip just the development side.

If Alan does read this and he dosen`t have the time or it can`t be done then thats fine

We can always turn to you Geoff

Yep. Alan is a star!!!!

As a point of interest, a switcher may be a bit much.

For those of you in the UK that want to do the GT2560 turbo upgrade, a friend of mine who sells Garrett turbo's (amongst other performance related bits) has said he will do a group buy of 10 for £540 ea, delivered, including VAT.

His company is called GBE. See Here!

You wont get stung for import duty, you get a UK warranty, and if things should go wrong (hopefully they wont) you dont have to return it halfway around the world at your cost.

Its an option!

I've done something very similar once before and if you think I'm doing it for £1000 you can blow it out your ass.

Yes, and I tried to set the expectation quite low when I added my name to the list. Pretty darned near impossible to do what we ask, based on Alan's earlier comments to me. OTOH, he's done the seemingly impossible up until now. I'm willing to express hopeful interest and let the expert educate us all.

Sorry folks - I'm having to drop out of this one - too much movement in the debit column, and not enough in the credit one at the moment. I was hoping this would be a usual LEC group buy timescale thing - i.e. months of procrastination before it gets sorted (well, that's what happens when i organise something  ) - I didn't allow for LGM & Ekkers efficiency - a few months would make a difference to me, but i'm having to budget for a full engine re-build.

List for adaptor plate only (amended)

1. Ailwyn Confrimed UK
2. Ailwyn Confirmed UK
3. Monty Confrimed UK
4. Paul.P ? UK
5. Dico Confrimed UK
6. F1 LOTUS ? USA
7. Richard K Confirmed - (UK)
8. theelanman ? UK

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
