Replacement Windscreen

Postby Nemesis » Wed 20.06.2007, 08:01

I had the misfortune to hit a stone at high speed which cracked my original windscreen. It was replaced with a Rioglass "Star Glass" green tint screen which cracked the day I drove it home. A crack propagated from the driver's side edge & travelled about 2 inches. The crack was halted by drilling a hole at the point of the crack & impregnating with resin. Now,5 years later another crack has appeared in the same side, similar to the first. I intend halting the crack as before. My question is,does replacement with another "Star Glass"
screen make sense ? Do other members have experience with these, supplied by Lotus as replacement screens ? I assume the front drive configuration of the car is causing excessive movement in the A pillar & bulkhead which is twisting the screen, causing cracks. Do any members have a good fix for this problem.
It costs me heaps to do these replacements so I'm not keen on doing any more.
Any help much appreciated.
