Right door CDL motor help

Well I got out to the car yesterday at the airport, hit the disarm button on the alarm, went to open the right door and it was still locked. Left side came up.... Hummm. Tried it again, same result. Unlocked it with the key. No worries. When I got back did a lengthly diagnose... Motor is DOA. Local dealer wants my first born for a new assembly. Any chance someone has a spare? All I need is the motor but I'm not sure if they are all the same.

The door lock motor was cross referenced over to other GM door locks, if that is the case you can check ebay (search GM door lock).

door lock motors are pretty simple and generic -- all you need is one to fit and to have the proper throw (you may know this all ??) you just need a good cross reference and I'll bet you can find an alternative source -- heck, take it to a car stereo/alarm install place and they may recognize it by sight and order you a replacement.

That is actually a great idea, just attach the actuator and your are done

Already tried. Don't forget that I used to manage a couple of install shops. The actuators are not generic by any means. Thank you very much for the eBay links. One of the actuators is actually really close and has a GM part number. I'm going to call my GM parts guy to see if I can find the opposite side.

I have the same trouble but got a spare from a frindly LECer

I tried a whole host of generic ones (because the Lotus part is REALLY expensive) but without success

Hope you can get a GM equivalent - maybe not a UK GM car, though

If it's UK GM, there should be a part number. It would make cross referencing it a lot easier if you can find it.

I dont have the lotus motors in my door......
the previous owner had the cat1 alarm fitted and within this package was the motorised locks....so my motors and mechs and not OEM.....the barrels and minor workings are lotus but the mechanicals Ive not got a clue.......its a GT alarm thats all I could tell you

Is your car an S2, I only ask as I worked on a Mustard Yellow S1 years ago putting in an alarm, at the time we didn't know the wiring details for the CDL module, so put an extra slave motor attached to the main motor to get the locking working with the alarm, just thought it might have been your car.

got a question for you then.....did you put a separate fuse in for the ringer/sounder/alarm box?
it was installed may 98 by B's sound and security in kings lynn...installed by neil hayes

The actual car I worked on was an S1, but the same colour as yours, I thought you might have put the later wheels on an S1. So sorry I can't help with the fuse question
