Recently purchased a scrap door to recover the main seal off it.
Salvaged the seal and sold the door back on again on ebay cheaply to recover some of the costs.
My mistake was presuming a courier wouldn't be that expensive!!!
Anybody have any recommendations Please.

The problem with a door is that it is just over the length which most couriers decide not to bother, or charge a lot more for the privalige of carrying it.
That said, there are a couple of 'specialist' couriers who will do the job (some require it to be boxed up, some are happy with wrapping in bubblewrap/old blanket etc).
Have you tried
Paisley Freight? - I have used them for all sorts of odd sized things (and regularly for wheels/tyres).
Another one is Shipley.

You have hit the nail on the head. The size is the problem, most want to send it as a pallet which rockets the price. I've used Paisley freight before for bikes and wheels excellent service but same problem.
I'll try your other suggestion. Thanks

One of the couriers allows much larger sizes, unfortunately I can't remember which but I have posted parts of boat masts, whole strimmer etc which are longer than an Elan door.
Have you tried parcel2go etc there are several companies similar that use different couriers so try a few.
