Right hand side window lifter lifts no more

Hi everyone,

after spending some money on maintainance and new tires today my window power lifter on the right side stopped liftig the window.

On this side the windows were always a little hard to lift, you could hear the motor ache. The lifting went always very slow, I would
say half the speed of letting them down.

Today, there was a silent noise and the motor was unable to lift the window anymore. It is however possible
to lower the window. I also could pull up the window manually while my wife was pushing the button...

Any suggestions what could be broken? And how much effort it is to repair?

It could be something as basic as the tracks needing a good cleaning and re-lubing the outer sliders and tracks and the center lifting slider/butterfly, but having had a bunch of window regulators to repair, it is also possible that the internal rubber friction clutch between the cable spool and the gear has finally failed. You will have to remove the regulator to get to the sliders, so I would suggest that you order the center track slider (A100B6210S) for the right side and a butterfly (A100B6271S) so you can put it back together when you figure out what is wrong.

The center track slider is also know for cracking and when being operated, it will twist a bit and not slide evenly so the motor can not move the window without help.

If you would put your location into your profile, you might get some assistance from owners near you. I am assuming you are in Germany, since your email is from Germany.

I am in the US, so not close by...

There are a few companies that have listed a window regulator repair service on eBay, but the last one I saw was up to $400.00+.

I can re-cable any regulators with the correct parts as well as having new sliders and butterflies.

I have a couple of "core units" that I can overhaul for a reasonable cost, but I would need to get one in exchange. Right this minute, I don't remember which side they came from. One MIGHT be for a R/S door or maybe not. Since you would have to send your regulator back to get a core refund, you could just send your assembly to me and I will fix it if it is just a tired regulator. If the motor has been over-worked and the clutch component has been destroyed, then I don't have any of those available right now.

I normally charge $150.00 + postage to overhaul and re-cable a regulator but if I need to buy another regulator to get a good motor, the price will be higher.

There are some peugeot cars that used that basic system but with different cable lengths, so you would have to use it to rebuild your regulator, it isn't a direct bolt on solution.

Other owners closer to you have rebuilt and swapped units around, so maybe one of them will speak up and offer to help you out, or you can send it to me and I will repair it for you.
