Replacement Centre Slider Failure?

I was on my back from the Mayland Car Show in Essex yesterday, when I tried to put my drivers window up only to hear a crunch and grinding noise coming from inside the door. I immediately stopped and left it where it was until I got home.
Upon removing the door card for perhaps the hundredth time in my ownership, I found that the replacement slider I had fitted a while back as a prevention measure has sheared in half, released the cables and consequently dropped the glass. At the same time this has also broken my butterfly clip.
This was one of the re-engineered sliders, has anyone else had any problems with these? Not looking forward to going back inside the door again to repair it.....
