window slider number of?

Hi hope this is simple Q?- So stripped out my windows mechanisms- left passenger side 2 sliders (being the nylon small post fixed to glass with the nylon block to fit in the guide runners screwed on top) at front of glass and 2 at rear as per fabulous youtube video.....Drivers side (right) has two at front only one lowest one at rear - is this normal? or has the last person who kindly re assembled the slider mount posts incorrectly left one off?

your supposed to have the same amount on both sides. but they will work ok with just a single slider, probably would equally work without then to be honest.

i know that my windows are missing some of those pins.. which car and which side. i lost track of.

greasing them well and (more importantly ) getting them rails correctly aligned has a lot more effect on the wear of the windows.

There needs to be 4 sliders in total on each window (2 on the front edge and 2 on the rear edge). If you do need to replace any they are stupidly expensive for what they are. I managed to repair one of my front sliders using a small diameter bolt as a pivot following the snapped one i discovered when i stripped my window out.
You might be lucky and have a perfectly functioning raise and lower action with one of the 4 missing, but having all 4 present will help prevent the window from wobbling excessively when fully raised. They do need to be lubricated properly too with vaseline rather than grease, and the channels they slide in should ideally be cleaned out as best you can to remove the decades of dried lube and dirt that will have accumulated and slowed down the movement. The alignment of the channels is also critical for a smooth and free window operation. many people have battled over this and it is well covered within the forum... You may just need to persevere with searching.

Thanks guys very happy with your help. Yes I am now a veteran of cleaning, greasing, lining up then rinse and repeat I'll work out a fixing point for the extra slider and cement on. thanks again.
