Has anyone got any close up digital shots of the windscreen edging seal and A pillar seal area that they could post please I am having problems having my screen replaced

Not quite sure where your coming from pazza? Have yours been taken out and disposed off?
Sorry, i dont have any other photos. Infact i pinched that one from the 'door and window' section.
i'd be suprised if there wasnt a pic or two somewhere on this site.

Hi Dico, I am not sure if it has been disposed of yet, good point, will check. However, what has been done so far looks poor to me. I would like to say " this is what it should look like ". I have had a nose around that section and in the gallery but was hoping for some close ups. I will also show them the manual, again

If you've had it replaced on the insurance then th A pillar seals should have been replaced as a matter of course.
Have they fitted new ones or butchered the old ones?

This is an insurance job. They have used the original A post seals BUT they have used a very wide band of sealant down the edge (wonder what's under it) and have not fitted the L shaped corner finishers (wasn't sent to us by Lotus, mate). This is all in spite of me giving them copies of the relevent manual pages and expressing my concerns that it must be done correctly. I was assured that their best people would be on the case, they would take their time and it will be ok because they did a Ferrari last week No points for guessing who the insurance company use for their windscreens. I am speaking with the area manager tomorrow.

Hi Paza,
Goodluck with the screen, Dico borrowed a shot of mine pre-installation of the plastic corner pieces (via PMs in Bromsgrove for less than two quid, so tell your insurer to pull their finger out). Sounds like you need to give the area manager a gentle speaking to.

They have agreed to remove the horrible looking band of sealant and redo it. L shaped trim on order. Door weather seals look undamaged and they say they didn't have to remove them. According to the Manual, it does look possible to remove and refit the window finisher without damaging/removing the seal. The saga continues....
