Hi,
My interior light only comes on when the passenger door's opened, not with the drivers.
What actually gives the signal for this as I can't find a switch similar to the boot one on either doors surround.

Also, to change the door's speakers, do i have to peel the carpet back to get to loads of screws to enable me to get the door card off.

You have to lift up/remove carpet to get to 4 or 5 screws to remove the door card.

Apart from those mentioned there are the three in the recess that abuts the dash, one in the door handle escutcheon and two? behind it. One? behind the oval door insert card, one behind the orange clipped lock riser, one in the b-post end IIRC...have I gorgotten any?

I've managed to get the under-carpet screws out. The 1 that hold the small panel under the handle & the 2 under that. The B post screw's out too, just struggling with the area around that oval shaped leather panel. Should that just lever/pull out? Is that where these orange clips are?
Also, if there's another screw under the lock-riser, how do you get to that?

Oval panel should pull away and backwards, unless someone's araldited the bloody thing in.
Take a small electrical screwdriver to the bottom edge of one end of the orange clip and gently prise it out. It may (95/100 times) break but it has to come out. The riser then lift out of its escutcheon and behind the metal rod there's another screw.

As to the courtesy light, the switch is inside the door, attached to the lock mechanism. See this thread for Enright's explanation:

Do your central locking and alarm work OK?

The orange clip is a Vauxhall part - see the parts cross-reference where I posted the number a year or two ago.

Thanks for the replies, if only getting that oval panel off was so easy!
I had 2 screwdrivers levering at it, then was near enough hanging from it, but the amount of that rubbery glue that had been applied really took some moving. It kept my neighbours amused anyway!
I managed to get access to the speaker and remove it and the pod it sits in without removing the door riser and it's screw, the panel was flexible enough to let me in.
I'm just going to replace the passenger speaker for now, don't think I can go through all that again for at least another week! I'll obviously buy a new pair of 2-ways, just fit the drivers when I've a spare few hrs, and the skin's grown back onto my knuckles.
As to the door mechanism. The central locking works fine and the alarm is activated when door opens, so something's working somewhere.

Only had it a month, but I've no longer got a w'end with nothing to do!
