I recently went to open my driver's door, and was unable to release the door catch, after a lot of messing about it did open but is still very much hit and miss. The central locking is working fine and the door can also be opened from the inside, the leaver on the outside seems to have a lot of travel on it and is quite loose.
Has anyone else had a problem like this or can point me in the right direction?

Ian,
You'll need to get the door card off to have a look inside. some of the levers and rods are held in place with on open nylon clips, perhaps one of these have come adrift.

Ian,
Had a bit of a problem similar to this when I first got my car. Got the door apart and took out the locking mechanism which was all gunged up. After a spring clean and some freeing up all was good again...worth a try maybe?
Cheers
