Parts List to refurbish window operation

Both my windows rattle and the weather strips along the window are dry and cracked. Has any one put together a list of the bits it takes to just do it all since I have no desire to open up the panels more than once. What is a good source for the parts? (Federal)

As specky says for the visible window rubbers - neat solution. The reason your windows rattle is one or more of the 4 slider blocks are lose or broken. Dismantling the window is not especially difficult but you need to set aside a few evenings and be prepared for a number of issues to work around. I sorted out my driver's window last Winter and it took a bit of fiddling with but eventually renewed a couple of the sliders and adjusted the window nicely to touch the A pillar and hood seals. Have a look at the parts and and maintenance publications (available on here if you haven't got the CDs off e-bay yet). Until you dismantle the window it's hard to say what you'll need. I found that one of the upstops (bobbin screwed through the bottom of the glass) had seized and I had to saw it off - not easy given the access. Also the 'butterfly' catch on the middle runner wouldn't release and I broke it - I found out later if I had released all the bolts for the runner to take the pressure off it should have released. I didn't buy a new one I just fashioned a plastic washer into a C shape. Get a dentist's mirror and apart from those issues everything is self explanatory when you look at it. Disassemble everything methodically and lay all the bits out to represent where they came from if possible. It's worth keeping the battery charged as you'll be running the window up and down a lot.
