Windows sound like a nightmare!

I have been reading all of your experiences with the doors and the window mechanism and to be honest it has made me terrified! I have some chips to the top of my drivers side window so i was going to strip it down my self and replace the window, and at the same time replace the weather strips... Anyone know where i can get a green tint window from? at a resonable price, any help would be greatly appriciated... Also can i get a cheaper after market alterative weather strips, maybe form a classic car company or some thing, i don't mind fabricating them myself.
