You mentioned WD's m100 project. I seem to remember that there was some wear in their cam angle sensor and they decided to replace it; it's apparently a known weakness with these engines. Could this have been a factor affecting yours, I wonder? (I seem to remember they experienced some sloppy play in the reluctor disc?)

I'm wondering if the shape of the spark advance graph might be used to provide any clues about the health of the CAS, since it's likely to affect all of us...

i will post up a graph of before and after. assuming you want RPM V Spark advance?

how do you look for wear in the CAS? Do you waggle the disc?

I haven't looked at the disc on mine but I think it looked like 'steering play' on WD.

ps Just a thought...I notice that your thermostat seems to do something around just under 70C whereas ours seem to do the same thing just over 80C...
