What LEDs?

Postby Dom » Wed 15.11.2017, 22:56

Evening, All.

Having dabbled with LED bulbs in the side lights, I'm curious about upgrading the rear lights and brake lights. Does anyone have any recommendations as to bulbs? I know LED technology moves quickly...

Are the tail lights 207s and the brake lights 382s?

Many thanks,

Dom

I read something a few years ago about using LED bulbs in light units that weren't designed for them.

I think it was something like the light unit was 'E' approved for use with an 'E' approved filament bulb. Because an LED bulb will scatter the light differently it means that even an 'E' approved LED bulb isn't necessarily 'legal' in an old unit.

That probably isn't a problem under normal circumstances, but could be raised as an issue by an Insurance company following an accident. Perhaps!!

I've got some LED bulbs in my van, and trying to get them of decent quality so that they would last more than a year was a problem!
